utube, overdrive, etc

Well, I looked at a few video clips on Utube and thought most of them were negative, vulgar etc. I do not see myself searching for Utube videos to attach to anything. I know how to download an audio to Overdrive but did not do it because I will not sit and listen to it on the computer.

I tried out Google Docs. I thought it was good because I can save my documents online, so I can access them anywhere and I don't have to carry my USB drive around. This is good when I travel between libraries. Now I just have to remember to use it.

More Wikis

I forgot to tell you that I also looked at Blurb and Quintara. Blurb is a self publishing Wiki. You can make a book and publish it yourself. It is great and would be fun for anniversaries, birthdays, etc. as well as for beginning writers.
Quintara is a Kids search engine that was very user friendly. If you are a chilren's librarian you should check it out.

I have taken a class on Wiki's at SMRLA and learned quite a bit about Wikipedia at that session. I even edited a Wiki during that class and it is still posted today 8/23/07. I just edited another session today from my hometown so we will see if it stays also. I like the way you can check to see who changed the wiki.

Future of Libraries

Libraries are entering an exciting time and it is up to us to be excited and enthusiatic about all the new technology that is evolving. I am trying to keep up with most of it. I like the fact, that with most of these applications, they are available anyplace there is a computer that has Internet access. You can get to your bookmarks from anyplace. This is nice for me, personally, when I travel to the other branches each week.

I like the fact that when you bookmark you can get to your bookmarks from any computer. The other thing I found interesting was that you could see the top bookmarked sites and decide if you wanted to add it to your list. I was not real thrilled about adding people to my site that liked the same thing as I do.

I explored Rollyo and I can see that it could be helpful when looking for a specific topic. I did my list on Travel. Hopefully I can find some nice places to travel.

I am totally amazed at myself. The learning is continuing and I am continuing to have fun. I set up my Bloglines reader and also added another picture to my blog.

I just made my Avatar with Meez. What fun. I never knew there were so many choices. I now want to open my gift to see what is inside. I did not find a button for that yet.

Technology I learned this week

I explored Flickr. It was fun finding pictures to post to Flickr. I am anxious to save some of my own photos to Flickr to share with others. I enjoyed looking at the mashups, maps etc but am really not interested in that part of the site. I found Amy's library trading card. I wonder if it is worth hundreds of dollars yet?

Well, I have made it this far. Hopefully I will be able to find my blog again in the future. This is training and I am going to get better at it, I know. I even created my profile. I am getting better already.
